The 2010 Citizens Fire Academy Begins

What is the Citizens Fire Academy?

- What kind of training does it take to become a firefighter?
The Homer Township Senior Citizens Fire Academy was established to answer questions like these and more. For the first time, senior citizens will be able to gain classroom and hands-on experience to help them understand what being a firefighter is about.
The Homer Township Senior Citizens Fire Academy will include experience with: truck and engine operations, ambulance and paramedic operations, public education, fire prevention, and pharmacology. The academy also has tours of communications, fire apparatus and an ambulance. Each participant will receive a certificate.

October 13, 2010 – 10:30 A.M. Public Education and Fire Prevention
October 20, 2010 – 10:30 A.M. Pharmacology
