Homer Township receives Safety
Grant
On May 1, 2007 the Homer Township Fire Protection District was
awarded a Safety Grant through the Illinois Public Risk Fund in the
amount of $7,800.
This grant was written for providing training and equipment for our
Water Rescue Team. Due to the growing number of bodies of water
within the boundaries the District protects it is essential to have
training and the equipment necessary to respond to water related
emergencies. The Homer Fire Companies will respond for shallow and
surface water rescue; for deep water or recovery incidents we are
part of the Mabas 19 Dive Team who would assist in responding to
these emergencies.
